How To Create a Real Income from Your Home Business

Have you ever thought of starting a home business with the intention of making a positive change for yourself? Everyone starts their business venture with an idea of creating some extra income, tax breaks, new friendships, personal growth or getting their products at cost. If they give their fledgling enterprise some attention and actually work with a plan and consistency, the results can be extremely satisfying and profitable. However any income earned is proportionate to the income producing activities (IPAs) that they accomplish daily.

You’ve heard people say “I can’t sell” or that a certain business venture “didn’t work for me”. First of all, selling is not a skill we are born with. However, with proper training you can learn how to sell successfully. Second, if the business “didn’t work for them” chances are “they didn’t work”. That statement is akin to having a gym membership and saying “the gym didn’t work for me”, wouldn’t you agree?

In the beginning of my business I had no systems in place. I didn’t quite know where to start. However by attending weekly meetings I learned the skills necessary to present my products and close a sale. Then by tracking my results, I could see weekly that I was making progress. Almost every week, my sales increased and my closing averages improved. What once seemed to be a daunting task now became a simple routine.

I can’t stress enough, the need to “plug in” to some form of weekly meeting, training or education. The results from the time and effort required can be doubled by taking a friend or a guest to the meeting with you. In many cases the events are set up to inform and educate guests about your products and your business opportunity.

People love to buy. They just hate to be pressured into a sale. By focusing on a win/win for you and your customer in a friendly and informative way, your business will flourish. Wouldn’t you love to develop a strong customer base of people who actually enjoy hearing from you and who would want to refer you to their friends?

Starting a home business is a relatively minor decision to make. The start up price for a kit usually costs less that you would spend at the grocery store each week. The big decision is the decision to really take the opportunity and run with it. You will never know unless you give it a sincere 100% effort. No matter whether you are working your business 4 hours a week or 40 hours a week,  remember, the results will be proportionate to the skills you develop and the targeted action you take.
